Wanting What's Best For You

I am Thankful for each and every one of you that have been so supportive of me right down to your Vote on Election Day in my endeavor to be your voice as your County Commissioner. We came up short by 2,525 to 2,480… 45 Votes (.98%) of winning. While it was a tough loss, we all sent a strong message to the incumbent that we want a voice and we want change. My heart is full knowing that each of you played a part in having a voice. Thank you all so much! What does the future hold? This will be shown over the next 4 years… Through your prayers, your support and staying in contact with me will help me in my future decision. Again, I Thank you all as I look forward to 3 years from now (this is when I will need to make that decision). I have enjoyed truly the friends and individuals I have met along the way and realize I truly want to work for you!

Thank you and God Bless!

Campaign Values

My values are this: I want what’s best for you. That means I am willing to listen to your thoughts and ideas. I am willing to work to achieve results that best serve all of us in St. Joseph County. I am not willing to sway on my personal Christian values of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. I’m not perfect, but strive to do my best to be more Christ-like each day, as doing so has allowed me to grow my faith.

What's A Commissioner?

Infographic - What Is A county Commissioner?

Elected by their community, County Commissioners act as leaders, managing a county's budget, infrastructure, and public services like roads, parks, and libraries. Working with other officials, they make crucial decisions shaping the lives of all residents within their county. Click to see the infographic and read more.

Ready To Serve

You deserve to have your elected officials working for you, especially in the role of St. Joseph County Commissioner. I’ve always strived to have a humble servant’s heart. I am willing to serve you by asking tough questions to make sure we do what’s in the best interest for not only the county, but its employees, and most importantly, you, the citizens of St. Joseph County.

A few of my focus points if given the opportunity to serve you will be:

Working closely with the County Highway Department

to make sure they have the proper equipment and support staff to maintain and update our roads and roadways in St. Joseph County. This means that our roads are plowed in a timely manner, our intersections and roadways are mowed and trimmed back to the county's right-of-way, and potholes and washouts are repaired as soon as possible. It is important that there continues to be an effective plan laid out, and we continue to move forward to update and maintain our roads. St. Joe County's roads have become some of the worst in comparison to our neighboring counties, and we need to focus on fixing this.

Working closely with the St. Joseph County Drainage Board

to maintain our waterways. We have miles of rivers, creeks, ditches, and buried tile in this county that are rapidly deteriorating and becoming less effective. These waterways affect every one of us in one way or another; the list is endless. I want to serve you by working with this board for solutions and a plan for sustaining our waterways for the future.

Working with our County Police

to make sure they have the equipment and are thoroughly trained to serve and protect the citizens of this county. You and I, as citizens and taxpayers, want to know that when help is needed, the best officers in the area are in St. Joseph County protecting us and our families.

Working with our County Dispatch (911)

We have a great staff of First Responders in our dispatch center in St. Joseph County. They are our first point of contact when an emergency happens in our county. This means we need to continue to support them, their training and equipment to continue to strengthen the speed of response so when an emergency happens and you call 911, the help you need is dispatched to you as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Serving The
Community

Electrician

As Founder, Owner and CEO of McCormick Electrical Services this has given me experience of being accountable to “watching the numbers” staying within budget and taking care of our employees.

4H

Being a 10-year member as a youth. Being a leader while my children where in 4H has taught me responsibility along with the importance of leading others so they can become responsible themselves in their futures.

Firefighter

Being a firefighter of Liberty Township is more than the flashy trucks and hot fires. It’s about putting yourself in harm's way when others need you most. This mentality will continue to guide me as your Commissioner. To serve others first will always be my first priority.

Church

Jesus came to this Earth to serve others and give of himself. I feel I have always had a servant’s heart. I am willing to do the same for this County, I am stepping up to serve the Citizens of this County. I have spent most of my life as a member of the North Liberty Church of Christ before moving my Family to Vineyard Church in Mishawaka during the COVID lockdowns of 2020.

Family

I have been Blessed with a wonderful supportive wife Karen McCormick and 3 grown children Katie, Robert and Andrew. Being elected as your Commissioner I will need to work and remember that you as well my fellow elected officials will all be part of my extended family. While some may not like all the tough decisions I have to make, I will always look for what is best for the entire St Joseph County Family.

I want to connect with you!
